Elgin Syferd grew to become the largest independent marketing communications agency in the Pacific Northwest, eventually selling to DDB Needham, a division of Omnicom a NYSE company. He managed the media and public relations groups and day-to-day operations, as well as Elgin Syferd Drake in Boise, Idaho which the company purchased. After the sale of Elgin Syferd, Dave helped spearhead Seattle’s bid for the 2012 summer Olympic Games, served as interim CEO and Vice Chariman of Bob Walsh Enterprises conducting business in Russia and the Republic of Georgia. He also was co-founder of International Tourism Councils, helping establish tourism in Argentina, Peru, and Vietnam. Dave is a senior marketing strategist, brand consultant, marketing communications expert who has successfully managed companies and major marketing communications accounts. Over the years Dave developed a comprehensive understanding of the tourism industry through his management of such major accounts as Alaska Airlines, Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau, Ala Moana Americana Hotel, Crystal Mountain Resort, Holland America Line, Princess Tours, Society Expeditions, the Sun Valley Ketchum Chamber of Commerce and Windstar Cruises.
Jensen’s experience is rooted in group tour development and operations for the incentive travel and corporate meeting markets. In 1975 he founded a destination management company at Lake Tahoe that began with the creation of cutting edge winter sports programs for large groups. He was later part of the trio that founded Mutual Travel in Seattle, and from 1988-1992 served as Executive Director of Ski Lake Tahoe & The Sierra Ski Marketing Council, two regional cooperative marketing councils.
